My full name is Enrica Gaspari, and I go by the nickname of Reeca. I'm second generation Italian-American but, purtroppo, I don't speak the language.
My background as a ballet dancer, oh so many years ago, taught me the importance of "being in my body," and allowed me to experience the joy of an open, free-flowing spirit. But in daily living, the stresses and injuries we incur can shut us down and close off our ability to feel at home in ourselves. Pain, whether it be physical or emotional, can change how we think, how we move, how we live.
I began my studies in body work eighteen years ago, wanting to learn how to regain my relationship to Self, and found that accompanying people on their journeys was a tremendous privilege, and meaningful practice.
In my work I focus on identifying the specific needs of an individual, to address the vital components of Body, Mind, and Heart. From this perspective, we can engage the body’s inherent wisdom to seek out wholeness, allow the mind to create new paradigms, and inspire the heart to open. The techniques I have studied and use vary; from Visionary Craniosacral Work® (a soothing non-invasive hands-on therapy), Therapeutic Body Work using deep tissue techniques, Pre- and Post-Natal Treatment, Scar Tissue Remediation, Tickle Massage, and Aroma Acupoint Therapy.
My approach to any kind of bodywork is connection. Connection through conversation and touch. The verbal dialogue allows for inquiry, check-ins, and intention setting, and then proceeds into touch. I like hearing what a body has to say with my hands. I don't talk a lot with clients while they are on the table; the focus is on what they are feeling.
I view the body as a mystery and a miracle. I mean, it's miraculous, is it not?! All the things it does for us and holds for us so we can function--and then when it is properly addressed, it reveals its secrets and can release that which we are no longer needing. And even more, with the right encouragement, we can embrace and celebrate strengths that have been hidden. Brilliant!
